Overview

In this week-long retreat, you'll travel from Malawi's vibrant and bustling capital city, Lilongwe, to the peace and tranquillity of Kuti Game Reserve. There, you'll enjoy walks, yoga and animal tracking before heading to the pristine beaches of Senga Bay. You'll spend your days kayaking, swimming, hiking and exploring the charming lakeside villages before heading back to Lilongwe for a night out at the city's best clubs and restaurants.

Lake Views

DAY 1

Day

Your guide will pick you up from Lilongwe city or airport and you'll head to Kuti Game Reserve in time to catch the sunset over the dambo. You'll enjoy dinner under the stars in the peace and quiet of the wilderness.
Bike the Park

DAY 2

Day

You'll ease into the day with an energizing yoga class followed by a healthy bush breakfast. Then, you'll bike, run, or walk around Kuti, taking in the magnificent scenery, birdlife, zebras, giraffe, antelope, impala, monkeys and wildebeest. In the evening, you can join an optional night safari.
Lake Malawi

DAY 3

Day

You'll depart Kuti and head to the lake. There, you'll enjoy the beach and explore the lakeside villages around Senga Bay.
Vervet Monkeys

DAY 4

Day

You'll head out for an excursion to the Senga Hills from the nearby Safari Beach Lodge, hiking to the top for stunning views across the lake.
Traditional Dance

DAY 5

Day

You'll spend a day on the water, kayaking and swimming around Senga Bay. In the evening, you'll enjoy traditional dance from local Gule Wamkulu dancers.
The WHeelhouse

DAY 6

Day

You'll take a boat ride out to Lizard Island for snorkelling and fish braai. Then, a local storyteller will come and share tales before dinner.

Day

You'll head back to Lilongwe to visit the markets before hitting the town for a night out of live music and great food.

The Wheelhouse

A quiet lodge nestled among sand, rocks and tropical gardens in Senga Bay.

Located at Kambiri Point, Senga Bay 125km from Lilongwe, The Wheelhouse boasts naturally picturesque surroundings, lush lawns, three secluded beaches and many exotic trees. You'll enjoy watching vervet monkeys titter in the treetops, as well as an impressive variety of bird life (including a resident family of Fish Eagles!). The lodge is one of the few places from which you can watch the sunrise and sunset over the shimmering waters of the lake.
