Lake of Stars Discovery will be an intimate and immersive experience set in a beautiful, remote location, therefore the number of tickets available are limited with strictly advance sales only. Once they’re gone there will be no more tickets released and no sales at the festival gate. 

Local tickets

EARLY BIRD 3 DAY TICKET & CAMPING PACKAGE – MWK 56,000. Available until 31 May or until stocks last.

STANDARD 3 DAY TICKET & CAMPING PACKAGE– MWK 66,000. Available from 1 June.

Tickets will only be open to Malawian nationals (ID will be required) during the first three days of sale. General public sale will begin on 11 May.

We expect demand for tickets to be high and will be releasing local tickets in two batches to give people more than one opportunity to buy.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I buy a ticket on arrival at the festival? No. Tickets for Lake of Stars Discovery will strictly be available to purchase in advance only.  We expect demand to be high so advise purchasing a ticket early.
  • Can I buy a ticket only without camping? No, all tickets include camping on site. However if you choose to organise accommodation off site you will still need to purchase a full price ticket.
  • Why do all tickets include camping? In order to experience the full Lake of Stars Discovery atmosphere we encourage everybody to switch off, escape from everyday life and stay on site for the full three days of the festival.
  • Are tents and camping equipment provided in the cost of a ticket? No, the ticket covers your space in the festival campsite only. It is ticket holder’s responsibility to provide their own equipment.  There will be showers, toilets, lockers, campsite security and food vendors on site.
  • Will there be rooms available to book on site? No there will be no rooms available at Kachere Kastle.
  • How will the local ticket process work? To purchase a local ticket you must reside within Malawi. Tickets will be released in two batches to allow people the opportunity more than one chance to purchase.  Tickets will only be open to Malawian nationals (ID will be required) during the first three days of sale. General public sale will begin on 11 May.
  • Will there be Early Bird tickets? A small number of Early Bird local tickets will be available in Malawi, offering the chance to purchase a ticket at a reduced price.
  • Can I buy a two day or one day ticket for the festival? No, all ticket packages cover entry and camping for the whole three days of the festival. We encourage all festival goers to enjoy the full Lake of Stars Discovery experience so no one or two day tickets will be available to purchase.
  • How many tickets can I buy? Tickets are limited to four per person.
  • Do children need to buy a ticket? Children under the age of 12 are able to access the festival for free with no ticket required. Children over the age of 12 are required to purchase a full price ticket. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
  • Am I allowed to leave and re-enter the festival site? Yes, however in order to experience the full festival atmosphere we encourage everybody to stay on site for the three days of the festival.
  • What food and drink is available at the event? There will be a range of festival bars serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. No drinks other than drinking water may be brought onto the event site. There will also be a range of food vendor stalls on site.
  • Can I bring my own food and drink to the event? You are not allowed to bring any drinks, excluding drinking water, into the festival. Bags and body searches may be in operation and any unopened containers will be confiscated.
